RPIMUD Network Policies

The RPIMUD Network will collect no personal information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide that information to us. The information below pertains to how information about your visit to our site is handled.

Information Collected and Stored by the RPIMUD Network

If you do nothing during your visit but browse through our site, read pages, or download information, we will automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit:

1) The Internet domain and IP address used to connect to our site.

2) The type of browser and operating system that you are using.

3) The date and time of your visit.

4) The site URL from which you came to us, if you connected through another site.

5) The pages that you visited, while on our site.

We use this information to help make our site more useful to our visitors, to learn about the number of visitors, and the types of technology our visitors are using. We do not track or record information about individuals, unless they submit personal information to us as defined below.

If You Send Us Personal Information or Become an Affiliate/Member

If you choose to provide us with personal information, as in an e-mail to a member of the RPIMUD Network staff, or by filling out a form with your personal information and submitting it to us through our website, we use that information to respond to your message and help us locate the information that you have requested, or to create a local user account for you that will permit you to access certain functions of our site, such as voting.

We only share the information you give us with governmental and/or law enforcement agencies as required by law.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your e-mail address or personal information with any other website, person, or commercial agency

Links to Other Websites

Our website has links to many other websites, and in many cases these links are provided and/or recommended to us by our visitors, members and affiliates. As such, the content of any other sites that are not subdirectories of RPIMUD.com do not reflect the views or opinions of the RPIMUD Network. In addition, sites hosted on the RPIMUD.net domain are the individual sites of our affiliates and their staff, and therefore we claim no responsibility for anything presented on those pages.

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, the RPIMUD Network may, at any time, employ software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with our site maintenance schedule.

Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act. Any such criminal actions against this site, the RPIMUD Network, our visitors, players, developers and/or affiliates will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Outside Graphics

Members of the RPIMUD Network are permitted to link to outside graphics in two instances; forum avatars and signature banners. As these images are not hosted on this site, the RPIMUD Network is not responsible for the content of these images, though we do check the forums regularly and will remove any member who is found to be using image content not appropriate for all ages. If you would like to link to an outside graphic for your avatar you are required to link to an image of exactly 80x80 pixels. If you would like to link to an outside graphic for any signature banner, that image must be exactly 140x50 pixels. This requirement is not imposed for any reason other than to maintain a clear, clean, and crisp consistency in our forums.

If your outside graphic does not meet these requirements you will be asked to replace it with one that does. If you do not have the skills to resize your outside graphics, our staff will do so for you and supply you with an appropriately sized image for your use.
